Jennifer Alsop

Biography

A self taught artist with a Science background in Botany and Zoology, and I began painting when I retired from my business. I have Exhibited my work at The Mall Galleries, London,on four separate occasions with the Society of Women Artists. I have Exhibited work at Patchings on four different occasions, winning The Burton Manor award with my watercolour painting, "Splendour in the Grass", the Batsford Prise for my painting "Still life with Flowers in Contiguous Colours", and a Highly Commended award for, "Why?" I have Exhibited work at The Taliesin gallery in Swansea, The Pier Head building in Cardiff and The Story Museum, The Hayes, Cardiff. I was lady Chairman of the South Wales Art Society, Cardiff, until 2022. I have enjoyed painting courses with artists whose work I really love:- Charles Reid, Judy Whitton, Ann Blockley, Adelene Fletcher, Jean Hanes and recently, Matthew Bird, Joe Dowden and Fabio Cembranelli.
