Fred Elwell

Biography

Born In South London now living in Hampshire. A self taught artist although I did attend evening classes at The City and Guilds of London School of Art. As they didn't teach painting in artificial light I had to be content with life drawing two evenings a week. I also did all day on Sundays but it was always over subscribed for painting so took to drawing and clay modelling. I work mainly in acrylics and watercolour. I work mainly from my own photographs. I should have mentioned too that I am not a professional artist, just a hobby painter.
