Deborah Warner

Biography

I attended a course back in 2010 on Renaissance Rome and part of the course was to visit the Raphael Cartoons at the V&A. Walking through the Sculpture Court at the V&A I noticed many sketchers drawing from the sculptures and they looked so at peace. I remembered enjoying art at school, many years ago, and thought may be I could pick it up again and enjoy the same peace of mind. So I booked an introduction to drawing course in 2011 and haven't looked back since. I don't get to do it as much as I would like, work being a major part of my day, but when I do, I thoroughly enjoy it, no matter the result. I don't concentrate on any specific theme or medium, I just like to give it all a try. I belong to two art groups and have made some lovely new friends along the way - so picking up a pencil/pen/brush/pastel after all these years has been one of the best things I've done in my life.
