Darragh Treacy

Biography

Darragh Treacy was born in 1973 and raised just outside Avoca, Co. Wicklow. Darragh is predominately self taught and favours the use of oils with an impressionist style. It was Darragh’s father, the artist Liam Treacy, that first introduced Darragh to painting “en plein air”, something which Darragh still enjoys today. Darragh’s subject matter is varied and includes still-life, landscapes and street scenes. Darragh has exhibited at the Wexford Opera Festival since 2011. He is a member of the Dublin Painting and Sketching Club, exhibiting at its annual exhibition in Dun Laoghaire and W.B Yeats anniversary exhibition in City Assembly House Dublin. While working all year round on private commissions, his work can also be found in leading Dublin galleries and in private collections at home and abroad. Darragh also works as a set designer and his work has brought him much critical acclaim and numerous design awards form the Institute of Designers of Ireland.
