Barry Hulme

Biography

I started painting in 2004, I am influenced by Wesson, Seago and many of the great masters, more recently I enjoy the work of Steve Hall, John Hoar and Alvaro Castignet to name but a few. I paint in a loose style and try to simplify as I can. The medium I enjoy most is watercolour but dabble with Acrylic and water soluble oils. If I can I paint from life and am a member of a group of artists that make regular painting outings during the warmer months. This year 2016, to my great elation and surprise I won the Society for All Artists Amateur Artist of the Year. My ambition is to be as good as I can, let the journey begin.
