Biography

Arnold Lowrey Biography Arnold has been painting for over 40 years. He paints in watercolours, oils, pastels and acrylics and over the last 20 years he has tutored thousands of painting sessions. He regularly demonstrates for Art Societies and runs workshops in all media. He has taught in Workshops in UK, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and America and also on the cruise ships His demonstrations are accompanied by a strong sense of humour and clear explanations. Four books on painting techniques have been published with translations in several languages and over 20 DVDs have been filmed. His latest DVD, “Painting Flowers in Watercolour” is now out He can be seen regularly on the Painting and Drawing Channel on Sky TV and he recently has had an article on flowers in watercolour published in the prestigious magazine “The Art of Watercolour”. He is self taught, and has advanced by taking from artists he most admires e.g. William “Skip” Lawrence, John Yardley, Joseph Zbukvic, Robert Wade, Alvaro Castignet etc. Artists from the past who have influenced his direction are Turner, John Singer Sargent, Zorolla and Van Gogh,etc. He has exhibited in The Royal Institute of Watercolours at the mall galleries, London Colour and light together with good composition and design are important to him. He likes to paint quickly on adrenalin before his attention span ends. Arnold lives in Cardiff, Wales UK where he regularly holds exhibitions of his paintings.
