Returning to oil painting after a career in art education and art software development, I have become fascinated by the ubiquity of photographic 'reality'. My work often starts with a snapshot – a casual and disposable image which, nevertheless, suggests something deeper. Using digital image editing, montage and direct observation to develop my idea, the final painting is rendered in oils, hopefully producing something more fully realised.
Giclee printed reproductions of my work on archive-quality paper are available. Contact me for details.
