Work alongside John McKenna A.R.B.S, a member of the Royal society of British sculptors and a professional public artist for over 20 years. John has lectured in figurative sculpture and 3D design in further education colleges. Peter Scott Tudhope M.A (Fine Art) runs our drawing and painting courses. A five day course in bronze casting will give you 'hands on' practical experience in bronze casting, at the end of which you should take away with you knowledge of the bronze casting technique and a small bronze cast of your own work. John can also run clay sculpture courses and sculptural metal fabrication courses from the studio. Course dates are flexible to suit your learning needs, accommodation not included. There is on site accommodation for x2 persons in our cottage annexe, next door to the studio or you can stay a local B&B, if desired meals can be provided eating en famille (at extra cost). The courses will have between 4 and 6 PERSONS per course, to enable an intensive learning experience, allowing lots of individual attention on the courses. Please call to discuss further, we are flexible to your learning requirements.

Born in London he began his career as a professional artist in 1976 and studied privately with various tutors in the UK. My love of fine art and in particular the Dutch Masters took him to Holland to study old master techniques and the interplay of light and shade with Dutch landscape painter Jan van Buren. The main body of his work consists of landscapes and wildlife subjects although recently he has included abstract paintings in his exhibitions. In 1977 he opened his own art gallery in Essex learning a great deal about the commercial aspect of the art world. In 1990 he was awarded The Hillingdon Arts Trophy and in 1998 "Best Oil in Show" at the Wildlife Art Society Annual Exhibition in Central London. His work features in collections throughout the world including USA, Canada, Holland, Germany, France, Australia Italy, Middle and Far East, Russia and Latvia. Currently he is teaching oil painting techniques in France and author of unique easy to follow instruction manuals in CD ROM format.
