Thank you painters online

I have added paintings to this site over the past two months, I have not painted actively for possibly 30 years. I consider myself a complete novice and I am increasingly impressed by the quality of art work that is represented. I have not posted images online on a 'national' forum before and I am exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to do this and I am appreciative of the comments that I have received during this time. I sincerely hope that artists who have been posting here since the site began do not feel that the work that 'newcomers' such as myself add reduce the impact that their body of work has on the site and the way they can inspire others who see it. It would be a loss to the forum if artists who felt this did not present even their shoddiest sketch, as even these might certainly be an inspiration to many who use this site.

  • Morning Justin
I have just looked up your work and believe me you are no novice! You have considerable skill and a wide variety of impressive work. I particularly like the Mohican painting and many of your landscapes.
I also had a long gap when I barely touched a pencil or brush, and I think we are not alone in that. However, like many things I believe that life experience brings something extra or at least different to our work that we may not have had otherwise.
    Happy painting!

  • Hi Justin, I thoroughly enjoy your work, the range of subject matter and styles are refreshing, and I think the same as Tessa has already remarked upon, your work doesn’t qualify for the novice heading.
I have dabbled on and off since school and only started painting ‘properly’ about six years ago, which is when I also discovered painter on line. Once I plucked the courage up to post on the gallery I discovered a wealth of experience, advice, talent, and I hope, friends too.
I’m positive that I wouldn’t still be painting now if it hadn’t been for the encouragement and confidence that other users of the site have given me.

I was going to ask you in the comment I made on your last posting what kind of bike you have, I don’t need to now, if this is it! Lol
    Best wishes
    Fiona
