Here something more about the subject. With the mixing of three primary colours, red, yellow and blue, we get three secondary colours - Orange, green and maroon. If we mix some more primary colours with those secondary colours we get six tertiary colours - Reddish Orange,Yellowish Orange, Greenish Yellow, , Bluish Green , Purple and Violet. The variation in the tones of tertiary colours helps us to get many more colours and many colours with different names have evolved in this world of art. There are many shades of the primary colours. So the choice of 'original' primary colours differ according to places, people and thoughts. The name of the primary colours are red, yellow and blue, but there is a difference of opinion as to which one shade will be considered as real one. However, it is generally believed that Alzheimer's Crimson, Cadmium Lemon Yellow and Cerulean Blue are traditional red, yellow and blue. 'Hue' is a very familiar word in the colour world. Its lexical meaning also is 'colour'. In fact it is the difference of the tone of the primary colours. And this difference of hue gives birth to different types of secondary and tertiary colors. Except the three primary colours and white and black, there are about 170 types of secondary and tertiary colours that are used for drawing. All colours are also divided into two types of clusters - Warm and Cool. Red, orange and yellow are warm colours. Blue, green and violet are cool colours. We will learn more about the colours in our upcoming classes. Stay with my drawing classes and enjoy. To see all the previous tutorials surf “ Sunday Drawing Class”.
