Sunday Drawing Class -13 Three months have passed. Today is the 13th tutorial of our Sunday Drawing Class. As per my word, from today to the next three classes, I will show some easy line drawings of the objects which we see in our daily life. To show more things in at a time, I created some pencil sketches without video recording and after that, on video recreated them. So you can see from where to start and how to proceed next.Try it, show me and tell me if you need suggestions. See Video on youtube. Now some facts on "Tone" . Simple meaning of 'tone' is relative lightness or darkness of a colour. The exact tone depends on the degree and quality of light falling on a particular object. A side or portion will be comparatively darker in tone than a side that is in direct light. What is the importance of tones in a painting/drawing? The answer is simple. It enables you to create convincing impression of light and shade. At the same time, it helps you to make the subjects look three-dimensional. This I have already discussed earlier, when talking about shadow and shades. Now the question is how to recognize the tone in a colorful object or photograph? For this, either you have to take a good look and use your imagination or take a photograph and change it into black and white digitally or through photocopy [Xerox]. After about ten or twenty of this kind of observation and paintings, you will be able to realize that what actually I want to say. For an example, an orange looks always just with one tone of orange in colour. But lots of different tones of orange or red or yellow, even green tones are hidden there. Take a photo of an orange and transform it to a black and white picture. You can catch the difference.
