Back after a long gap

Back after a long gap

An explanation of why I have been absent for so long, and an update on what I have been doing art-wise recently.

Well, after a long gap I am back writing on this blog again. My Husband has a long term illness, an autoimmune problem, and the past few years have been stressful to say the least. Finally, he seems to be a bit more stable, although now he is having problems breathing so who knows. After numerous stays in our local hospital, and also the big one in Southampton, he is home. Not being a driver it takes me quite a while to visit him when he is in hospital even though we can see our local one, when he has to go to the one in Southampton it takes up a whole day traveling for a two hour visit, it costs a lot too. Hopefully, he won't have to go in again for a while. So, now I have more time to paint and to do other things. I have just put up some of my most recent pictures, I will put a few more up in the next few days. I have joined a new painting group following the demise of the Alfred (Paddy) Kerr group, it means I can still exhibit and the group are more relaxed and fun to paint with. We have had a few exhibitions over the past couple of years, but sales are still low and it is a while since I sold anything. Being led by a professional Artist is good as we get to try new things. However, it means I have started using soft pastels and I'm having a lot of fun and satisfaction with this medium. I am definitely going to do more pictures and try new subjects too. I will put up a couple of pictures of animals in the next few days. I am also doing a landscape, which we started in one of the groups meetings, when I finish it I will let you see that one too. Happy painting and I'll write again soon, honest.
