Art Material Storage <3

Hi Everyone! I'm a Design & Technology student, and I would appreciate your help with my coursework by answering a few questions. I'm going to design a transportable art materials storage than can allow people to have an easy access with materials while travelling around different places. This storage can properly store art materials with dividers provided inside the box, it also has a divider to store fresh paints without having to carry it separately. I made a questionnaire to help me find out what are the needs of my consumers, what kind of products they would buy and other information relevant to my coursework. Your input will help improve the design of my product. 1. What is you age? 2. Where do you prefer to do painting/sketches? a. Outside b. Indoor 3. What medium do you work with? a. Painting b. Drawing c.Printmaking d.Sculpture 4. What material do you prefer the storage to be made out? a. Wood b. Plastic c. Metal 5. What type of artist/crafter are you? a. Hobbyist b.Personal c.Part Time d. Full Time 6. What is your favourite materials to use? a. Watercolour Paint b. Acrylic Paint c.Oil pastel d. Pen/Pencil e.Clay f. Recycled objects 7. How much would you spend for your art supplies storage? Thank you very much xx

INDOORS 3 MAINLY WATER COLOUR WITH SOME ACRYLIC PAINTING 4 PLASTIC 5 PERSONAL (FOR PLEASURE) 6 WATERCOLOUR 7 DIFFICULT TO SAY BUT SUBJECT TO QUALITY AND SIZE £40 - 100 STORAGE SHOULD NOT ONLY BE PORTABLE BUT ALSO EASY ACCESABLE, ALSO ABLE TO STORE LIQUID CONTAINERS WHICH VARY A LOT IN HEIGHT AND AVOID STORING BOTTLES LAID DOWN. AVOID ROUNDED CORNERS AS SQUARE ITEMS DON'T FIT. GOOD LUCK. RAY.

1. 65 2.a 3. Mainly water soluble oils. 4. A or b- wood being nicer but plastic lighter. 5. I paint mainly landscape but also attend two art groups weekly so paint/draw whatever subject given. Oops that’s c! 6. Oils 7. Maybe £50-£100 depending on size etc. Jilianne I think this is an excellent idea and very challenging! Because I paint in oils it’s always difficult to transport home in or out of the car and I normally use a cardboard box. I have looked at buying a pochade box but expensive and none seem ideal. Good luck. I’d be interested to see what comes of this. Tessa Gwynne
