BP Portrait Award 2013

BP Portrait Award 2013

Details: This competition is aimed at encouraging artists to focus on and develop portraiture within their work. First prize £30,000 plus a commission worth £5,000; and BP Travel Award open to all selected entrants. Entrants must be over 18. There is no upper age limit but there is a BP Young  Artist Award for the best portrait painted by an artist under 30. Open to artists from around the world. One entry per person; judging is from original works only. Handing-in point in London only.

The Artist and Leisure Painter 2013 Patchings Open Art Competition
The Artist
and Leisure Painter Patchings 2013 National Open Art Competition

Details: Organised by The Artist and Leisure Painter in conjunction with Patchings Art Centre. The exhibition, in two separate categories, is open to all professional and amateur artists; any 2D media accepted. Prize awards worth over £11,500 including The Artist purchase prize up to £1,500. Selected and additional highly commended  works are also shown on the Patchings Art Centre website, with a People’s Choice Prize. Up to three works may be submitted in each category, maximum size (framed) 47¼X59in (120X150cm). Entry fee of £15 per artist covers three works for each category. Iconic Britain
Iconic Britain

Details: Following on from the wonderful year of the Queen’s Jubilee, and the superb Olympic Games, we are looking for exceptional paintings that capture Britain at its best. This can be landscape, seascape, urban depictions or figure/portrait work. The paintings must show an ‘iconic’ image. This could be a well-known landmark, church or cathedral, stately home or castle, or a face that is an ‘iconic’ part of British culture. In fact anything which inspires the artist and which can genuinely be regarded as an ‘iconic’ image of Britain.
