23 Oct 2011 16:36 Updated 23 Oct 2011 16:38 Portraits: Thanks to Carole Massey, the use of a mirror is a good way of showing jaw line faults in a portrait. It only takes a tweak to make a difference, and it can take a while, to get it right. As an example,I post this portrait, the lhs jaw was the main problem area. Jamea.

My entries this ettesyear are a photo "Silhouettes" and a Sea, Mountain, Sunset painting entitled "Facing the Sunset" (silent g). The reason for the latter is that my Wife Muriel pointed out , the mountains looked like a face, this was not planned, but lo and bnehold there it was! As the buzzword is Creativety, I nthought why not, so instead of sending Lindisfarne Castle, which I likeI have sent "FACE".

Lacking inspiration I was doodling, in Pastel, with a copy of a dogs head, trying different colour backgrounds. The last one tried was RED, all of a sudden the RED took a step backwards and the dogs head appeared unconnected from the background. Hope this picture shows the effect. display will be at the Centre from the afternoon of the 27th of July until around the 7th of August during the Centre’s opening hours. It will be a smaller selection of around 30 pieces, but I hope that you will have the opportunity to visit the centre and see your entry on display. If you have requested that your entry be returned I will send it to you before the end of August. However, if you have any questions or need your entry returned before then, please get in touch.
