old olive pot - final version
oil on canvas - 36"x24" This has been a struggle! - but I've finally finished and in the process I think I've learned a lot. The painting has changed from week to week as I placed the grapes on the right, on the left, painted them out then in again, added cheese and then glass and china! You could say this was a lesson in how NOT to paint a still life. I was determined to finish it and on the whole I'm satisfied - except with the grapes - the angle is not quite right, probably because I moved around. Also, the focus of the painting is meant to be the pot and because I kept changing the position of the objects I may have lost this a bit. What do you think - I want you to be honest.
